這次到巴拉卡公路上拍攝，計畫要拍攝比老人星（鞍部南方樹梢可見的緯度最南天體，約-53度）更南方的南半球星座天體，主要目標是南十字與船底座星雲，事先做了些仰角的評估與模擬，應該沒有什問題（確認沒問題）。
1/16 AM 1:45 Carinae Nebula visually passing through the sky above Tapei 101 。船底座大星雲 Eta Carinae Nebula (NGC3372, 赤緯 −59° 52′ 04″) 透視視覺上正通過台北101 上空。

AM 3:00 Carinae Nebula transits 船底座大星雲正通過中天。木星已經高掛在七星山（左）的山頭之上，南十字才剛從雪山山脈露出一半的臉來。

I was standing at the 巴拉卡 highway which runs through the mountain 大屯, the Jupiter was already above 七星山（左），and 南十字 (Crux) was just rising from the 雪山山脈（south of Taipei），the col in front of me is a landslide dam called 竹子湖, ahead of it is 紗帽山, following the line of sight then you can see the 101 building towering at Taipei , this city, was still busy and noisy.
